The Emerald Semaphore of Keta-9 was developed through an extended international collaboration focusing on experimental sound design, analog reconstruction, and the integration of practical effects with digital compositing.
Visual Design and Cinematography
The film’s visual identity was developed using large-scale practical sets representing
the interior of Orbital Relay Keta-9 .
Industrial lighting and reflective plating were used to reproduce the dim luminescence
of decaying orbital infrastructure.
Filming Techniques
Long static takes and rotational camera rigs simulated orbital weightlessness. The production team
relied on analog systems to capture natural movement rather than relying on digital compositing.
Production Challenges
Excessive heat from the lighting arrays caused repeated delays during shooting. Cooling units
were installed between takes, resulting in a unique metallic hue across all relay interior scenes.
